Standard maps give you a vague pin, and hiking sites only focus on basic trail data and difficulty levels. This directory is built and curated specifically for photographers, by a photographer. Instead of vague descriptions, every guide shows you a real, high-quality photograph of the location so you have a visual reference of what is possible. It breaks down critical photographic expectations—like whether a spot is best for sunrise or sunset, how the light interacts with the landscape, and the technical logistics needed to capture the image. It is designed to give you a detailed blueprint of the scene so you know exactly what to expect before you arrive.

This isn’t a massive, unverified crowd-sourced app where anyone can drop a random pin. Every single location, coordinate, and field guide on this site comes directly from me. As a professional Colorado landscape and wildlife photographer, I personally research, hike, and shoot every spot featured here. When you read a guide, you are getting firsthand, field-tested data from a local professional who has spent years on the ground—not second-hand guesswork or internet rumors.

The coordinates are highly accurate to ensure you don’t waste time getting lost on the drive or the hike. Depending on the location, you will get the exact GPS coordinates for the parking area, the trailhead, or a specific vantage point. I don’t give a map for every single tripod setup—finding your own unique composition is half the joy of photography. Instead, I give you the precise keys to get to the location safely, alongside realistic hiking distances and terrain insights so you know exactly what to expect.

Yes, but as a baseline guide rather than a rigid rulebook. Each guide breaks down the best times of day to shoot, how the sun interacts with the landscape, and the general time of year the location shines based on historical patterns. I also include composition tips, such as ideas for element stacking or utilizing water reflections, to help spark your own creativity. Because Colorado weather changes rapidly, I do not provide live condition updates, but I do link to trusted weather and foliage resources so you can check live data before heading out.

Colorado’s terrain, weather, and wildlife require respect. Every guide includes essential safety reminders for the specific area, including sudden weather shifts and wildlife boundaries. I am deeply committed to preserving these incredible spaces, so every location features strict Leave No Trace (LNT) reminders and current permit or access requirements to ensure we keep these locations open, pristine, and respected for years to come.

This directory is built on a foundation of deep respect for Colorado’s landscapes and wildlife. If a member is reported or caught intentionally abusing trails, destroying property, harassing wildlife, or violating local land management rules while utilizing the information from this site, their account will be permanently banned without a refund. We have a zero-tolerance policy for behavior that jeopardizes access to these beautiful spaces or ruins the experience for the rest of the photography community.

Memberships and Billing

A Free account gives you access to a curated selection of foundational locations to help you explore the map, check general trail logistics, and see how the site works. Upgrading to a Full Access membership completely unlocks the entire directory. This includes my premium landscape and wildlife locations, advanced filtering tools, verified GPS coordinates for parking or vantage points, and detailed field notes. No, we do not offer rolling monthly plans. Because the premium field data, exact coordinates, and seasonal playbooks are fully unlocked the moment you sign up, our membership options are built to support photographers who are looking for long-term value in their creative toolkits. We offer both Annual and Lifetime options to fit your needs.

The Annual Membership gives you full access to every location and update for a full year—perfect for seasonal visitors or creators focusing on a specific project. The Lifetime Pass is a one-time investment that gives you unrestricted, forever access to the entire database. It never expires, it never renews, and you are fully grandfathered into every single new location, wildlife guide, and feature I add to the site in the future without ever paying another dime.

Yes. To ensure you have uninterrupted access to the directory, coordinates, and real-time seasonal updates, the Annual Membership is set to automatically renew each year on your anniversary date. You can easily view your renewal date or turn off auto-renew at any time prior to your billing date directly through your account dashboard.

Because our proprietary data, exact GPS coordinates, and field guides are digital and instantly accessible the moment you log in, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. If you are on an Annual Membership and do not wish to renew for the following year, you can cancel the auto-renewal through your dashboard at any time, and you will retain full access until your current membership year expires.

No. Memberships are strictly for individual use. To protect the integrity of the data and the countless hours spent finding these locations, account sharing is not permitted. Our system monitors concurrent logins and unusual account activity; any account found to be shared, distributed, or scraped will be permanently terminated without a refund. If you know another photographer who would benefit from these guides, we encourage them to sign up for their own Free or Full Access account.

As the directory grows and more premium landscape and wildlife locations are added, our public membership rates will adjust to reflect that increased value. However, as long as your Annual Membership remains active, your renewal rate is locked in at your original signup price.

This is a growing directory. I am consistently out finding new mountain peaks, capturing new imagery, and expanding the archive. New spots, timeless field notes, and composition guides are added regularly to increase the baseline value of your membership. Please note: “Updates” refers to adding brand-new locations and permanent guide details to the site, not live or daily weather and trail condition reporting for existing spots.

Absolutely. If you start out with an Annual Membership and realize you want to keep this directory in your camera bag permanently, you can easily upgrade to the Lifetime Pass directly through your account dashboard at any time.

Technical and Field Support

The website requires an internet connection to load the directory pages. Because many of Colorado’s best spots have zero cell service, it is highly recommended that you plan ahead before leaving home. Download the specific map area for offline use directly within the Google Maps app on your phone, and copy/paste the GPS coordinates from the directory into your notes. This allows your phone’s built-in satellite GPS to navigate you straight to the parking area or trailhead, completely independent of cellular service.

Yes. The directory is fully responsive and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices. You can use your desktop at home to research locations, check entry requirements, and map out your weekend trips, then log into the same account on your phone while out in the field to reference coordinates and trail details.
