Where to Take Landscape Photos in Colorado: Real Data vs. Blogs
Let’s be honest: the internet is full of generic “top 10” travel blogs written by people who have never set foot in Colorado, or AI-generated lists that point you to a crowded parking lot and call it a day.
This site is different.
If you want to know exactly where to take landscape photos in Colorado, this directory is built by a photographer, for photographers—from the website design and the website build, to every single location inside. This website is designed to take away the pain point of not knowing where to go, completely stripping away the frustration of endless searching so you can easily find and plan your next landscape or wildlife image.
I believe that great photography comes from preparation, patience, and true local insight. That is why every trail guide, layout, and composition tip comes from one direct source: a local photographer who has spent decades exploring Colorado’s backcountry, waiting out winter storms, and chasing the perfect golden hour light.
Whether you are a seasoned professional looking for exact GPS coordinates and element-stacking strategies, or a hobbyist wanting to know when aspens peak near Telluride, this platform is built to give you the honest, practical tools you need to capture the shot of a lifetime.
Behind the Lens: Knowing Where to Take Landscape Photos in Colorado
I’m a born and raised Colorado native, and being out in the wild spaces of this state is where I feel entirely free and relaxed. My true passion has always been capturing the rugged peaks, alpine air, and unpredictable wildlife of our wilderness.
My approach to photography is rooted in patience and precision. I believe that truly great photography means returning to a spot several times, studying how the conditions change, rather than just treating a location like a checklist item where you show up once, cross it off, and leave.
However, with our comprehensive Colorado landscape photography directory, you can dramatically expedite capturing a perfect photo without needing to make those endless repeat trips yourself. Whether you are visiting Colorado on vacation or you are simply limited on time, this resource will save you the trial and error, allowing you to instantly increase the quality, professionalism, and depth of your photography portfolio.
Built From the Ground Up
I didn’t just hire a team to put this platform together; I designed and built this website myself.
I bring over 25 years of experience as a professional photographer, web designer, and creative director to this project. I also grew up in the grit of a mechanic and body shop, an environment that taught me the value of hard work, attention to detail, and knowing how things operate from the ground up. I’ve combined all of those worlds to create a practical, high-performance blueprint for this directory.
To truly dedicate myself to this craft and this platform, I recently purchased a camper van that serves as my mobile photography rig, allowing me to spend more time living and breathing the locations I feature.
Life on and off the Trail
My life is driven by a deep love for my family and a commitment to hard work. Over the last ten years, my wife and I adopted two incredible boys, who are the center of our world. To support my family and my passions, I’ve also spent the last three years working as a local truck driver.
When I’m not driving routes locally, I am out in the field shooting one to two times every single week. I shoot with a Sony A1 system, relying on lenses like the G Master 24-70mm and 70-200mm to catch every line of texture in the landscape. I love providing accurate, hard-earned information to others, and I am always looking to continue learning myself.
